How to know the partition scheme of your hard drive.

Hello friends today I am going to show you how you get to know what is the partition scheme
of your laptop/PC hard drive so that you can get to know what option to choose during the
process of making a bootable pendrive for installing windows in your system.

Well first thing you need to know is that there are two types of partition schemes
MBR ( Master Boot Record ) and GPT ( GUID Partition Table ).
We are not going to talk about what these partition schemes are and how they are different
from each other because this article is about getting to know your partition scheme.

So the steps to know your partitin scheme and what to choose when using rufus are listed
below:

Step 1: Go to the start menu and search for "CMD" and them right click on CMD and run as
administrator.

Step 2: Type "diskpart" and hit enter.

Step 3: Type "list disk" and hit enter.

Step 4: Check the gpt portion of the disk as shown in the image below. If you have a star/Asterisk
below GPT then your disk is GPT and you need to select the last option in rufus partition
scheme.

Step 5: If you have nothing under the GPT section then your partition scheme is MBR and
you need to select the 1st option in the Rufus partition scheme.

That's it you can just leave the second option as the 1st optino works for both Bios and UEFI.
